Why Work on Summer Staff?
Well, there are many reasons why working summer staff at Sky Lake is the coolest summer job around! First of all, you get to live in a caring Christian environment where you have the opportunity to share your faith with others, as well as explore your own faith. You are surrounded by a huge net of people that are always looking out for you. Oh, did we mention the campers are cool, too? Every member of staff is affected in some way by a camper at some point during the summer - no matter if you are a kitchen helper, a lifeguard, or a staff counselor. And the friends you make on staff may very well become your best friends for life!
What Can I Do?
There are many different opportunities for you at Sky Lake! Here is a list:
Kitchen Helper (16) - As a kitchen helper, you get to
work with one of our awesome head cooks. During the day, you get to work the counter, wash the dishes, and do the back sink. Click here for full job description.
Staff Counselor (18) - Staff counselors are directly
responsible for the campers. They help plan daily activities and keep
everyone in line! Click here for full job description.
Lifeguard (18) - As you might hear our waterfront team explain, lifeguards “strictly enforce the above-water breathing policy here at Sky Lake.” Whether it is doing a floating breakfast or a twilight swim, the lifeguards are always on the scene. Click here for full job description.
Maintenance (18) - Maintenance helpers help Greg and Bill
keep the camp looking top notch!
Assistant Cook (18) - Assistant cooks are in charge of
making desserts and helping the head cook with other baking. At supper
time, they are the forepersons! Click here for full job description.
Resource Person (18) - The resource person’s main job is to make sure that everything runs smoothly. At meal times, they are always first up ready to lead songs. During the afternoon they often help the crafts coordinator in the craft shop. During evening vespers, they are often called upon to lead more singing. Click here for full job description.
SNAP Coordinator (21) - The SNAP Coordinator conducts
training weekend for SNAPs (Special Needs Assistant Personnel). Then stick with the SNAPs for a wild and crazy summer! Click here for full job description.
Waterfront Director (21) - The waterfront director is
responsible for making sure the waterfronts are up to par and that
everything is running smoothly.
