Our mission:
Sky Lake provides all children of God unparalleled opportunities for spiritual formation, sending persons forth to transform the world one interaction at a time.
Our vision:
By 2012, Sky Lake will define itself as a leading camp and retreat center within the annual conference. This vision will be realized by:
- Modeling sensitivity to God’s creation through the development of greener environmental programs.
- Enhancing retreat and camping experiences to facilitate spiritual formation
- Developing and implementing retreat and camping experiences that respond to the changing dynamics of our culture.
- Developing advanced communication processes to insure the message of Sky Lake’s ministry is well communicated.
- Developing focused mission “base camps” to orient and train volunteers to be at the ready to respond to anticipated needs.
Sky Lake was established by the former Wyoming Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1947, it is now been owned and operated by the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
Sky Lake takes its commitment to campers and guests seriously by maintaining accreditation by the American Camp Association, the standard-bearer of camping in the United States. To learn more about the accreditation process visit CampParents.org.
